Dr. Jason Maikos is a distinguished biomedical
engineer who directs the VISN 2 Biomechanics Research for the Advancement of
Veteran Outcomes (BRAVO) Laboratory at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare
System. With a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University and a
research focus on the biomechanics of gait and prosthetics, Dr. Maikos is
dedicated to advancing limb loss care and enhancing mobility for veterans. His
lab specializes in using state-of-the-art motion capture and biplanar
fluoroscopy technologies to provide objective, data-driven assessments of
prosthetic prescription, performance and patient outcomes. Dr. Maikos'
work aims to transform prosthetic prescriptions from anecdotal to scientific,
ensuring veterans receive the best possible care and technology to improve
their quality of life.
