Simcox-Clifford-Higby Distinguished Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School
Senior Physician, Brigham and Women’s Hospital
Speaker Bio: Dr. Anthony Komaroff is the Simcox-Clifford-Higby Distinguished Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a Senior Physician at Brigham & Women's Hospital. He maintained a general internal medicine practice from 1970-2015, served as attending physician on the inpatient and outpatient services of Brigham and Women's Hospital, and remains active as a teacher and investigator.
He has held several leadership positions and has published over 300 research articles, review articles/book chapters, and 2 books. In the past 40 years, his publications have been primarily focused on ME/CFS, Long COVID, and the biology and clinical consequences of infection with human herpesviruses 6A and 6B.
Dr. Komaroff has served as keynote speaker and chair of previous NIH Conferences. Additionally, he has been elected a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American College of Physicians.
