Speaker Title: Natalia Soares Quinete, PhD
Speaker Bio: Dr. Natalia Quinete has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemical Engineering, a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Analytical Chemistry and a PhD degree in Environmental Analytical Chemistry from Brazil. She is an Associate Professor at Florida International University (FIU) in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and is affiliated with the preeminent Institute of Environment at FIU. Her research focuses on assessing and understanding the sources, distribution, and fate of persistent emerging contaminants, such as PFAS and phthalates, in different environmental and biological compartments and their potential impacts on humans and animals. More specifically, she has been working on the development of targeted and non-targeted analysis methods using high resolution mass spectrometry for the identification and prioritization of contaminants of concern in the environment.
