This session will cover the potential/current impact of artificial intelligence on cognitive load, learning design, and student development. As a learning designer at MDC, home of Florida’s only AI Bachelor of Science, and a faculty member in DCMA, the bridge between how students learn, the way AI can mitigate and minimize unnecessary cognitive load and foster student development and achievement highlights the ethical and academic implications of the future of education and machine learning.

Participants will:

1. learn the types of cognitive load, how technology has continuously served to mitigate and minimize its impact on learning.

2. gain an understanding of how artificial intelligence is more than a cause for academic anxiety and fear but an opportunity for stakeholders to develop the technology we will inevitably leverage in and throughout our industry.

3. unpack the nuances between learning design, user experience, and artificial intelligence.
