“You are not alone; we are here for you”. These words represent the message we want the faculty in our college to feel (besides evoking the lyrics of a song by Michael Jackson). “We’ve got you”. Do you have questions? We have answers. Not only do we have answers, but we have taken extreme care in removing all foreseeable guesswork and anticipating the questions that you most likely will have, based on our previous experience supporting faculty.
We compiled an extremely thorough list of Frequently Asked Questions, where we provide tailor-made answers in diverse multimedia formats, including customized screen-recording videos that demonstrate specific procedures, and detailed text-based tutorials created, in most cases, by HCAS people for HCAS faculty. In other cases, we provide links to curated webpages where answers are already offered by other centers or institutions.
Providing content in diverse multimedia formats ensures that more people, regardless of their abilities, preferences, or circumstances, can access, understand, and benefit from the material, whether by using the Immersive Reader function in Canvas, or reviewing closed captioning in video tutorials, to name just a few examples. This approach fosters an inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to engage and learn, while feeling seen and heard. Again, “we’ve got you”.
Our FAQs Module represents one of the ways in which we raise the bar at HCAS. The FAQs Module is offered in several Canvas resource sites, available to faculty and staff in our college. This presentation is meant for those in faculty or faculty support roles, and general audiences.
